Title
Resolution to Approve a Best Source Purchase Order with Northern Boiler and Mechanical Contractors, Inc. for New Filter Press Bomb Bay Doors ($40,638.08)
Memorandum
This memorandum and resolution requests approval of a best source purchase order with Northern Boiler and Mechanical Contractors, Inc. for new bomb bay doors for filter press #1 at the Water Treatment Plant.
The Water Treatment Plant has two (2) filter presses that are used to process lime residuals that are created during the water treatment process. When the filter press is full, bomb bay doors open allowing for the dewatered lime residuals to be dropped into a semi-truck trailer. Currently, the doors for filter press #1 are beginning to fail and are at risk of causing other serious issues.
A quote from Northern Boiler and Mechanical Contractors, Inc. was obtained for this work. Northern Boiler and Mechanical Contractors, Inc. designed, fabricated and installed the doors for filter press #2 in FY22 and are therefore best suited for this work.
Northern Boiler and Mechanical Contractors, Inc. comply with the requirements of the City's Non-Discrimination and Living Wage Ordinances.
Budget/Fiscal Impact: Funding for these goods and services is available in the approved FY26 Water Supply System Fund operating and maintenance budget.
Charter language requires best source goods procurement over $25,000.00 receive City Council Approval.
