Title
Resolution to Approve a Best Source Purchase Order with D2 Traffic Technologies for Traffic Signal LiDAR Sensor Equipment and Supporting Analytics Software ($36,975.00)
Memorandum
This memorandum and resolution requests the approval of a best source contract to D2 Traffic Technologies for LiDAR Sensor equipment at W. Stadium Boulevard and S. Seventh Street, including traffic analytics software to support this hardware, in the amount of $36,975.00.

Transportation staff has been in search of a detection system that can detect vehicles, bicycles, pedestrians and near-miss incidents. D2 Traffic Technologies is utilizing LiDAR units for detection and has a software design that has met staff's needs to date during the demonstration period.

Transportation staff have tested one other LiDAR detection system but were not satisfied with the supporting software and related customer service. By comparison, D2 Traffic Technologies has allowed staff to test their system at the intersection of W. Stadium Boulevard and S. Seventh Street. Staff have been impressed with both the system performance and customer service to date.

Staff recommends approval of a best source purchase order with D2 Traffic Technologies, as the performance of their product demonstration and customer service uniquely qualifies them.

Budget/Fiscal Impact: Personal property purchases over $25,000.00 require City Council approval. Funds for this purchase are available in the approved FY26 Major Streets Operations and Maintenance Budget.
