Resolution in Support for Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AAATA) Millage
Body
Whereas, The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AAATA) received voter support in 2014 for a 5-year, 0.7 mill property tax for the purpose of expanding public transit services;
Whereas, The AAATA has implemented all aspects of service identified as part of the 2014 plan;
Whereas, The Board of Directors of the AAATA has approved ballot language and is seeking renewal of the 0.7 mill millage at the August 2018 election in order to maintain expanded services; and
Whereas, Expanded transit service enhances the quality of life for all Ann Arbor residents by reducing pollution, reducing congestion, expanding economic opportunity, and providing crucial mobility benefits for those who cannot, or choose not to, drive, including seniors, the young, and disabled members of our community;
RESOLVED, That the City of Ann Arbor formally endorses the 2018 AAATA millage.
