Resolution to Increase the Purchase Order with Lunghamer Ford, for Four Vehicles (Increase: $16,379.00, Total: $231,591.00)
Memorandum
On November 6th, 2025, City Council approved Resolution #R-25-401 which authorized the issuance of a purchase order in the amount of $215,212.00 to Lunghamer Ford, Owosso, Michigan for four vehicles under the MI Deal cooperative purchasing contract (#240000001208).
On December 15th, 2025 Ford announced that they will no longer be manufacturing the Ford F-150 Lightning and that all pending orders will not be fulfilled. In resolution #R-25-401 two of the four vehicles authorized for purchase are F-150 Lightnings. Fleet was able to work with the sales team at Lunghamer Ford to locate two Lightnings on dealer lots in the nation that would be close to the specs we had on order. However, due to the options the vehicles came with from the manufacturer, the costs are higher.
Additional funds in the amount of $16,379.00 are requested to make the purchases, bringing the amended purchase order total to $231,591.00.
Budget/Fiscal Impact: Funding for this increase cost is available in the FY2026 Fleet Services Fund Operations and Maintenance budget as a pass-thru from the operating units.
