Title
Resolution Authorizing the Execution of a Five Year Municipal Trunkline Maintenance Between the City of Ann Arbor and the State of Michigan Department of Transportation
Memorandum
This is to recommend that the attached resolution authorizing the City of Ann Arbor to enter into a five year contract with the State of Michigan for the maintenance of the State's trunkline highways throughout the City be approved. The trunklines are North Main, Huron, Jackson, and Washtenaw from Huron to the east city limits.
Work is scheduled to be completed by the Public Service Area, Public Works and Transportation Units and include maintenance of streets, signs, signals, storm sewers, vegetation and trees.
Budget/Fiscal Impact: Both the revenue from the State's reimbursement and expenditures required for maintenance are included in the approved FY 20 Public Service Area Major Street Fund with reimbursements to the other funds that may provide services.
During fiscal year 2019 approximately $225,000.00 was expended on trunkline maintenance. The State of Michigan reimbursed the City for these expenditures.
This will replace a similar agreement which expired on September 30, 2019. The amount of the contract is adjusted each year after consultation between the City and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).
