Ordinance 26-01 was approved by City Council on February 19, 2026. The City Charter allows summary publication of ordinances that are in excess of 500 words in length upon approval by City Council. Summary publication is appropriate due to the cost of publication and length of the ordinance. The ordinance will also be available publicly online.

RESOLVED, That the publication of Ordinance 26-01 shall be made by the following summary:
Ordinance 26-01 amends the Unified Development Code (Chapter 55) requirements and procedures related to bicycle and vehicle parking. Section 5.19 Parking Standards is amended to separate the bicycle and vehicle required parking tables, simplify formatting for the required parking tables and update bicycle parking requirements, clarify requirements for the design and location of bicycle parking spaces, and update standards for acceptable alternatives.
The effective date of Ordinance 26-01 is 10 days after publication. A complete text of this ordinance is available for inspection at the City Clerk’s office on the second floor of the Guy C. Larcom Municipal Building, 301 East Huron Street, Ann Arbor or at <www.a2gov.org>
