Title

An Ordinance to Amend Section 5.22 of Chapter 55 (Unified Development Code) of Title V of the Code of the City of Ann Arbor (Stormwater Management Review) CPC Recommendation:  Approval (6 yes, 0 no)

Memorandum

An amendment is proposed to Chapter 55 Unified Development Code (UDC) to better describe the circumstances in which the review of a stormwater management system will be done by the Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner’s office rather than City staff provided in Section 5.22.1.C.

This section was amended (Ordinance 23-02, approved February 16, 2023) to adjust the review responsibility between the WCWRC and the City to match with their jurisdiction boundaries instead of the type of stormwater management system proposed. However, City staff find the approved description to be confusing for applicants. The proposed amendment will simply list the conditions when a stormwater management system must be reviewed by WCWRC.

The City Planning Commission recommended the attached ordinance for approval following a public hearing on March 3, 2026.
