Memorandum
Ann Arbor Police Services is requesting approval to participate with the University of Michigan Public Safety and the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office in a funding agreement for acquisition of a firearms and force options simulator training system and after acquired, its on-going operation and maintenance costs.

Budget/Fiscal Impact: The Ann Arbor Police Department has funding available in forfeiture Fund 0027 for the cost of the simulator training system. The funds are in fund balance for Fund 0027. The Police Department requests that Council appropriate $50,833 from Fund 0027 fund balance to purchase the system.

The MILO Range is an interactive use of force and tactical judgment simulator. The Training System includes a large library of interactive scenarios and training exercises. In addition, the System Firing Range can simulate indoor/outdoor firing range scenarios for small arms marksmanship, qualification and weapon handling.
