Resolution to Authorize the City Clerk to Establish Up to 8 Days of Early Tabulation of Absentee Ballots for the August 4, 2026 Primary Election

Whereas, MCL 168.765a was amended authorizing up to 8 days of early tabulation of absentee ballots; and
Whereas, Early tabulation of absentee ballots is helpful to the Absent Voter Counting Board, allowing balancing, organizational tasks, and some scanning to occur ahead of Election Day;
RESOLVED, That the Ann Arbor City Election Commission authorize the City Clerk to convene the Absent Voter Count Boards up to 8 days in advance of Election Day in order to tabulate ballots in advance of Election Day;
RESOLVED, That the early tabulation of absentee ballots take place in accordance with the amended MCL 168.765a;
RESOLVED, That the City Clerk notify the Secretary of State and the public of early tabulation activities, including the specific dates and times, as required under law.
