Attached for your review and consideration for approval is a resolution authorizing up to $168,250.00 annually for the purchase of bituminous patching materials from AJAX Materials Corporation.
The bid was advertised on the City’s Website and on the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network (MITN) website. Two (2) bids were received and publicly opened on July 9, 2024. AJAX Materials Corporation was determined to be a responsible bidder for UPM high-performance asphalt cold applied instant asphalt repair material.

The recommended purchase order to AJAX Materials Corporation for bituminous patching materials are for normal maintenance activities such as temporary utility trench repair, pothole patching, and miscellaneous street repairs.
Budget/Fiscal Impact: Funding is available in the approved FY25 Public Works Operations and Maintenance budgets to be charged as appropriate and will be available in subsequent annual budgets if approved by Council.
AJAX Materials Corporation complies with the City’s Non-Discrimination and Living Wage ordinances.

Whereas, Two bids (ITB-4749) were received by the Procurement Unit on July 9, 2024;
Whereas, AJAX Materials Corporation was determined to be a responsible bidder for UPM high-performance asphalt cold applied instant asphalt repair material;
Whereas, Funding is available in the approved FY25 Public Works Operations and Maintenance budgets; and
Whereas, AJAX Materials Corporation complies with the City’s Non-Discrimination and Living Wage Ordinance;
RESOLVED, That City Council approve a two (2) year purchase order with AJAX Materials Corporation in the amount not to exceed $168,250.00, annually, for bituminous patching materials, subject to the annual appropriation of funds; and
RESOLVED, That the City Administrator be authorized to take the necessary actions to implement this resolution.
