Body
Whereas, The Ann Arbor City Council wishes to support activities that promote or bring the community together in its richness;
Whereas, The Ann Arbor Community Events Committee met and reviewed funding requests from community groups; and
Whereas, The Committee recommends the following allocations:
1) Ann Arbor Jaycees - $4,000 to cover city costs for the Summer Carnival Event held on June 19-23, 2019;
2) Cobblestone Farm Association - $1,000 to cover city costs for the Cobblestone Farm Association Farmers’ Market beginning on July 2, 2019;
3) Ann Arbor Jaycees - $4,000 to cover city costs for the Fourth of July Parade on July 4, 2019;
4) Main Street Area Association - $1,000 to cover city costs for the Rolling Sculpture Car Show Event on July 12, 2019;
5) Ann Arbor Street Art Fair - $1,000 to cover city costs for the Ann Arbor Art Fair Townie Street Party on July 15, 2019;
6) Ann Arbor Street Art Fair - $1,000 to cover city costs for the Ann Arbor Mile - Dart for Art on July 15, 2019;
7) Ann Arbor Street Art Fair - $9,000 to cover city costs for the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair on July 18-21, 2019;
8) Ann Arbor Active Against ALS/Ann Arbor Track - $1,000 to cover city costs for the Electric Bolt on July 28, 2019;
9) Ann Arbor Council for Traditional Music and Dance - $1,000 to cover city costs for the Dancing in the Streets Event on September 1, 2019;
10) Veterans for Peace - Chapter 93 - $125.00 to cover city costs for Veterans Day Memorial at Veterans Park on November 11, 2019;
11) Standing Tough Against Rape Society (formerly Michigan Takes Back the Night) - $1,000 to cover city costs for the 2020 Standing Tough Against Rape event on April 2, 2020;
12) WonderFool Productions - $1,500 to cover city costs for the Fool Moon Event on April 3, 2020;
13) WonderFool Productions - $1,500 to cover city costs for the FestiFools Event on April 5, 2020;
14) Leslie Science and Nature Center - $450.00 to cover city costs for the Ann Arbor Earth Day Festival on April 26, 2020;
15) A2 Cultural and Community Events Coalition - $700 to cover city costs for the African-American Downtown Festival Event on June 5, 2020;
16) Main Street Area Association - $2,000 to cover city costs for the Taste of Ann Arbor Event on June 7, 2020;
17) Ann Arbor Summer Festival - $28,000 to cover city costs for the Top of the Park Event and Relocation beginning on June 12, 2020;
18) Ann Arbor SPARK - $725.00 to cover city costs for the Tech Trek Mobility Row Event on June 14, 2020.
RESOLVED, That the Ann Arbor City Council approve the allocations from the FY 2020 Community Events Fund.
