This resolution seeks City Council acceptance of a grant and approval of a Grant Agreement with the State of Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity Grant and Approve a Grant Agreement for the City of Ann Arbor Election Headquarters.
This State of Michigan grant was secured to provide interior renovation of the newly acquired City of Ann Arbor Election Headquarters. The renovation includes programming, planning, design, and construction, with special emphasis on the design to include sustainable systems with various City decarbonization goals.
Budget/Fiscal Impact: Grant funds will be available in the Clerk Major Grants budget.
No matching funds are required for acceptance of this grant award.

Whereas, The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity has awarded the City a $1,000,000.00 grant for the Election Headquarters renovations; and
RESOLVED, That City Council accepts a grant of $1,000,000.00 from the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity for renovations of the City of Ann Arbor Election Center (the Grant), and appropriates $1,000,000.00 to the Clerk’s Office FY25 Major Grants Programs Fund expenditure budget with the source of revenue being the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity;
RESOLVED, That all amounts herein are without regard to fiscal year;
RESOLVED, That City Council approves the Grant Agreement between the State of Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity and the City of Ann Arbor, which outlines the terms of the Grant (the Grant Agreement);
RESOLVED, That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the Grant Agreement following approval as to form by the City Attorney and as to substance by the City Administrator; and
RESOLVED, That the City Administrator is authorized to take all appropriate actions to implement this resolution, including authority to execute any additional administrative documents on behalf of the City, to effectuate the terms of the Grant Agreement.
