Resolution to Approve Society of Les Voyageurs PUD Site Plan, 411 Long Shore Drive (CPC Recommendation: Approval - 9 Yeas and 0 Nays)
Memorandum
Attached is a resolution to approve the Society of Les Voyageurs PUD Site Plan. Approval of this resolution will allow for the construction of 220-square foot addition to the rear of the existing building and expand the existing driveway to provide additional off-street parking.
Petition Summary:
· The Site Plan proposes a 220-square foot addition to the Habe Mills Pine Lodge, the headquarters of the Society of Les Voyageurs and residence of some active members. The existing gravel driveway will be expanded to accommodate three parked vehicles for normal use and up to eight parked vehicles for the monthly alumni dinners held at the Lodge.
· The Site Plan identifies conflicting land use buffer and right-of-way screening areas, but no additional plantings are needed to satisfy the landscape requirements established in the PUD Zoning District Supplemental Regulations.
The City Planning Commission, at its meeting of January 19, 2012, recommended approval of this request.

Whereas, The Society of Les Voyageurs has requested PUD site plan approval in order to construct an addition to their existing club headquarters and member residence;
Whereas, The Ann Arbor City Planning Commission, on January 19, 2012 recommended approval of the petition;
Whereas, The development would comply with the PUD zoning and PUD supplemental regulations established pursuant to the requirements of Chapter 55, and with all applicable local, state, or federal laws, ordinances, standards and regulations;
Whereas, The development would limit the disturbance of natural features to the minimum necessary to allow a reasonable use of the land, applying criteria for reviewing a natural features statement of impact set forth in Chapter 57; and
Whereas, The development would not cause a public or private nuisance and would not have a detrimental effect on the public health, safety and welfare;
RESOLVED, That City Council approve the Society of Les Voyageurs PUD Site Plan dated December 2, 2011.
