Resolution to Approve the Collective Bargaining Agreement Between the City of Ann Arbor and Ann Arbor Police Professional Assistants Effective January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2026

Memorandum

Human Resources Services recommends approval of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Ann Arbor and the Ann Arbor Police Professional Assistants.

 

Budget/Fiscal Impact: The recommended changes are within the budget projections for FY 2025 and FY 2026. 

 

Highlights of the negotiated agreement include:

1)                     Two (2) year agreement;

2)                     5% wage increase for 2025 and 2026;

3)                     Funeral Leave for AAPPA employees will align with the current HRPP 4.10 Funeral Leave, to be consistent with other City staff;

4)                     A Uniform consisting of (5) cargo pants, (5) polo shirts, and (1) jacket will be made available to the designated AAPPA employee working in the property unit, and appropriate PPE will be made available to any AAPPA working in the property unit, or anywhere else where they may encounter hazardous or soiled materials.

 

City Administration recommends approval of the attached Resolution to approve the January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2026 Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiated between the City and the Ann Arbor Police Professional Assistants.

Whereas, The parties have reached a settlement on a new agreement, which includes a two-year term (January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026); and

 

Whereas, The City Administrator recommends approval of the negotiated agreement;

 

RESOLVED, That the City Council approve the two year collective bargaining agreement ending December 31, 2026 with the Ann Arbor Police Professional Assistants; and

 

RESOLVED, That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the term January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026 on behalf of the City, after approval as to substance by the City Administrator and approval as to form by the City Attorney.
