Title

Resolution to Approve Amendment No. 1 to the General Services Agreement with Kennedy Industries, Inc. for Pump Repair and Maintenance Services ($150,000.00; total contract amount $380,000.00)

Memorandum

This memorandum and resolution requests approval of Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $150,000.00 to the General Services Agreement for Pump Repair and Maintenance Services with Kennedy Industries Inc. In September 2021, Council approved a General Service Agreement for $230,000.00 with Kennedy Industries by resolution R-21-64. This amendment is to increase funding for needed repairs and maintenance of critical pumps at the water treatment plant.

The Water Treatment Services Unit (WTSU) has several pumps that are critical to the overall operation and success of the Water Treatment Plant. Recently the Water Treatment Plant implemented an asset management plan that evaluates and tracks critical equipment, and these evaluations show the need for extensive pump maintenance.

Therefore, it is recommended that City Council approve Amendment No.1 to the General Services Agreement with Kennedy Industries Inc. to provide additional pump repair and maintenance services.

Budget/Fiscal Impact Funds for this amendment are available in the approved FY24 Water Treatment Plant Water Supply System’s Operations Maintenance Budget.

Kennedy Industries Inc. complies with the City’s Living Wage and Non-discrimination Ordinances.
