Resolution to Approve Additional Street Closings for the Dexter-Ann Arbor Run on Sunday, June 6, 2010
Memorandum
The attached resolution amends the street closings for the Dexter-Ann Arbor Run scheduled for June 6, 2010. Council previously approved street closings for the Run on April 19, 2010 (R-10-121). At that time the street closures did not include closure of the M-14 - Main Street exit ramp due to concerns from the University of Michigan Medical Center. The University has now agreed to the closure of the M-14 - Main Street exit ramp and proposed detour to the Medical Center.
Applicant is requesting closure of the M-14 exit ramp to southbound Main Street from 7:30 AM to Noon on June 6, 2010.
MDOT has given tentative approval for the ramp closure, however approval from the City is required prior to MDOT issuing a permit for the ramp closure.
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets, and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
Official notification of all street closings will be provided through the City's website.
This event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.

Whereas, The requested street closures did not include closure of the M-14 - Main Street exit ramp due to concerns from the University of Michigan Medical Center;

Whereas, The Ann Arbor Track Club is requesting that in addition to the street closures previously approved on April 19, 2010 (R-10-121), Council also approve closure of the M-14 - Main Street exit ramp from 7:30 A.M. to Noon on Sunday, June 6, 2010;

RESOLVED, That Mayor and Council approve closure of the M-14 exit ramp to Main Street from 7:30 A.M. to Noon on June 6, 2010 in addition to all previously approved street closures for the Dexter-Ann Arbor Run;
RESOLVED, That the Ann Arbor Track Club must comply with all State and City permit requirements, including provision of liability insurance;
RESOLVED, That the Ann Arbor Track Club will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
