Resolution to Approve a Grant of Easement at 2130 and 2150 Jackson Avenue to DTE Electrical Company for Electrical Utility Service (8 Votes Required)

Memorandum

This easement is for a new DTE-installed pad-mounted transformer for a generator at 2130 Jackson Avenue aka Fire Station 3 and a 12 foot easement for new and existing overhead and underground electrical infrastructure at Fire Station 3 and 2150 Jackson Avenue aka Veterans Park.

 

This infrastructure and easement were requested by the City for improvements at Fire Station 3. City staff recommend approval of this easement.

Whereas, The City of Ann Arbor is the owner of the Fire Station 3 located at 2130 Jackson Avenue and Veterans Park located at 2150 Jackson Avenue, Ann Arbor, MI 48103;

 

Whereas, The City has requested and DTE Electrical Company has agreed to install a pad-mounted transformer and underground lines to service Fire Station 3 at 2130 Jackson Avenue;

 

Whereas, DTE Electrical Company has requested an easement for the construction and maintenance of new and existing electrical utility services located Fire Station 3 and Veterans Park;

 

Whereas, City staff have reviewed the request and recommend approval of the grant of easement; and

 

RESOLVED, That the City of Ann Arbor hereby approves this grant of easement for the construction and maintenance of an electrical utility service located at 2130 and 2150 Jackson Avenue, described as follows:

 

DTE UNDERGROUND ELECTRIC EASEMENT

 

THE CENTERLINE OF A 12' WIDE EASEMENT DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: COMMENCING AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SECTION 30, T2S, R6E, CITY OF ANN ARBOR, WASHTENAW COUNTY, MICHIGAN, THENCE S00°39'30"W ALONG THE WEST LINE OF SAID SECTION; THENCE S68°30'00"E 1371.43 FEET; THENCE S00°01'30"W 505.79 FEET; THENCE S89°56'00"W 190.90 FEET; THENCE S00°10'00"W 464.11 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING;THENCE N89°50'00"W 115.43 FEET TO POINT "A"; THENCE CONTINUE N89°50'00"W 38.80 FEET; THENCE S60°45'45"W 234.68 FEET; THENCE S86°23'26"W 163.00 FEET TO THE POINT OF ENDING; ALSO, BEGINNING ATPOINT "A"; THENCE S02°12'52"E 62.25 FEET TO THE POINT OF ENDING.

 

RESOLVED, That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute the grant of easement in a form approved by the City Attorney.
