Memorandum
This resolution requests approval of a three-year lease agreement with Washtenaw County for storage of vehicles and equipment for the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team. Space at 2000 S. Industrial known as area 9 (38’ X 48’) and area 10 (47’ X 33’) shall be leased.
The term of this lease is July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2027.

Year 2 Beginning 7-1-2025 $18,025.00
Year 3 Beginning 7-1-2026 $18,565.75
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office has previously utilized space at 1510 E Stadium for storage of SWAT Team vehicles and equipment. This property has been sold to the Ann Arbor Housing Commission and must be vacated; thus, staff recommends approval of the proposed three-year lease.

Whereas, The City owns the property at 2000 S. Industrial on which it maintains a building for vehicle and other storage;
Whereas, The City has available unused space in its storage building at 2000 S. Industrial; and
Whereas, The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, must vacate the space 1510 E. Stadium due to the sale of the property;
RESOLVED, That City Council approves a lease with Washtenaw County for the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team use of two vehicle and storage bays at the 2000 S. Industrial property for the term July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2027;
RESOLVED, That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the lease after approval as to substance by the City Administrator and approval as to form by the City Attorney;
RESOLVED, That, per Section 1:321 of City Code, an appraisal is not necessary for leases requiring the City to pay a total of less than $50,000.00; and
RESOLVED, That the City Administrator is authorized to take all appropriate actions to implement this resolution, including to determine whether to renew or terminate the lease under its terms, if the City Administrator determines it is in the best interest of the City.
