Memorandum
This resolution requests approval of a three-year lease agreement with Washtenaw County for the Offices of the Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner’s use of a single 20 ft by 50 ft bay in the Vehicle Storage Building at this city-owned building.
The term of this lease is July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2027.

Washtenaw County has leased this space at 2000 S. Industrial since the early 2000’s under various previous leases and renewals thereof. The most recent renewal was in 2021 which was the last authorized renewal; thus, staff recommends approval of the proposed three-year lease.

Body
Whereas, The City owns the property at 2000 S. Industrial on which it maintains a building for vehicle and other storage;
Whereas, The City has available unused space in its storage building at 2000 S. Industrial, and has previously leased a single 20 foot by 50 foot bay in that building to Washtenaw County for use by the Offices of the Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner; and
Whereas, Washtenaw County’s current lease for this space will expire on June 30, 2024 and there are no more authorized renewals, therefore it is time to approve a new 3-year lease for the County’s use of this space;
RESOLVED, That City Council approves a lease with Washtenaw County for the Offices of the Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner’s use of a vehicle and storage bay at the 2000 S. Industrial property for the term July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2027;
RESOLVED, That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the lease after approval as to substance by the City Administrator and approval as to form by the City Attorney;
RESOLVED, That, per Section 1:321 of City Code, an appraisal is not necessary for leases requiring the City to pay a total of less than $50,000.00; and
RESOLVED, That the City Administrator is authorized to take all appropriate actions to implement this resolution, including to determine whether to renew or terminate the lease under its terms, if the City Administrator determines it is in the best interest of the City.
