Resolution for Community Events Fund Disbursements from the FY 2017 Budget
Memorandum
Whereas, The Ann Arbor City Council wishes to support activities that promote or bring the community together in its richness;
Whereas, The Ann Arbor Community Events Committee met and reviewed funding requests from community groups; and
Whereas, The Committee recommends the following allocations:
1) Ann Arbor Jaycees - $4,000 to cover city costs for the Summer Carnival Event held on June 22-26, 2016;
2) Ann Arbor Jaycees - $4,000 to cover city costs for the Fourth of July Parade on July 4, 2016;
3) Cobblestone Farm Association - $1,000 to cover city costs for the Cobblestone Farm Association Farm Market beginning on July 5, 2016;
4) Main Street Area Association - $1,500 to cover city costs for the Rolling Sculpture Car Show Event on July 8, 2016;
5) Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, Inc. - $1,000 to cover city costs for the Ann Arbor Mile - Dart for Art on July 18, 2016;
6) Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, Inc. - $9,000 to cover city costs for the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair on July 21-24, 2016;
7) Ann Arbor Active Against ALS - $1,000 to cover city costs for the Electric Bolt 8K and 5K Run and Walk for ALS on July 31, 2016;
8) Ann Arbor Convention & Visitors Bureau - $500 to cover city costs for the Electrician’s National Training Block Party Event on August 3, 2016;
9) Ann Arbor Convention & Visitors Bureau - $500 to cover city costs for the UA Block Party Event on August 15, 2016;
10) Ann Arbor Council for Traditional Music and Dance - $500 to cover city costs for the Dancing in the Streets Event on September 4, 2016;
11) Veterans for Peace - Chapter 93 - $50 to cover city costs for Veterans Day Memorial at Veterans Park on November 11, 2016;
12) Michigan Takes Back the Night - $1,500 to cover city costs for the 2017 Take Back the Night event on April 1, 2017;
13) WonderFool Productions - $1,500 to cover city costs for the Fool Moon Event on April 7, 2017;
14) WonderFool Productions - $1,500 to cover city costs for the FestiFools Event on April 9, 2017;
15) Community Works Plus - $1,000 to cover city costs for the African-American Festival on June 3, 2017;
16) Main Street Area Association - $1,000 to cover city costs for the Taste of Ann Arbor Event on June 4, 2017;
17) Ann Arbor Summer Festival - $29,000 to cover city costs for the Top of the Park Event and Relocation beginning on June 9, 2016.
