Title

Resolution to Approve Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Work Statement Agreement with Access Michigan, LLC for the Wheeler Center Rooftop Cooling Units (Additional $34,000.00 for a Contract Total of $254,000.00 including contingency), and to appropriate $34,000.00 from the Wheeler Service Center Fund Balance (8 Votes Required)

Memorandum

The City, has contracted with Access Michigan, LLC to replace the Wheeler Center Rooftop Infrastructure Cooling Units. This work was approved in R-24-141 through a Professional Services Work Statement Agreement with Access Michigan, LLC for $200,000.00. Washtenaw County, a tenant in the Center, agreed to contribute $100,000.00 toward this work.

Infrastructure within the Wheeler Center, along with workspaces, are currently cooled by these cooling units and the work on those units has resulted in those workspaces becoming very cold. Access Michigan, LLC has provided a proposal to install a Samsung, 2 ton ducted mini split which will separate those workspaces from these cooling units to better meet the heating and cooling needs for those workspaces.

Additional funds in the amount of $34,000.00 are requested for this additional work, bringing the total amount of the Agreement to $234,000.00. Staff also request to retain the $20,000.00 contingency amount established in R-24-141 which brings the total spending authority on this Agreement to $254,000.00.

Budget/Fiscal Impact:  Funding for this amendment is available in the unobligated Wheeler Service Center Fund balance.
