Resolution to Approve Street Closing for the Ann Arbor SPARK Tech Trek (a2Tech360) on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 6:00 AM until 8:00 PM
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of Liberty Street between Fifth Avenue and Division for the A2 Tech 360 event on Friday, October 3, 2025. Liberty Street will be closed from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM for setup and cleanup while the event itself is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM and end at 5:00 PM. This annual event will also be held concurrently in Liberty Plaza.
The Sponsor, The Ann Arbor SPARK, is hosting an event to celebrate and explore the innovations of Ann Arbor tech companies. The sponsor will notify neighboring businesses and nearby apartments of this event. Notification will also be provided through the City’s website and GovDelivery.
The Sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, and to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.

Whereas, The City has received a request from the Ann Arbor SPARK to hold the Ann Arbor SPARK Tech Trek (a2Tech 360) event;
Whereas, It will be necessary to close Liberty between Fifth Avenue and Division from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 3, 2025 to include time for setup and cleanup;
Whereas, The Ann Arbor SPARK agrees to obtain the necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses; and
Whereas, Notification of the street closings will be provided by the sponsor and through the City’s website and GovDelivery;
RESOLVED, That the following street will be closed from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 3, 2025:
