Title

Resolution to Decertify Four Streets Not Being Used as Active Roadways

Memorandum

Public Act 51 of 1951, as amended, requires that road segments shown on the official Act 51 map that are not presently being used as active roadways be formally decertified. Four such locations have been brought to the City’s attention by the State of Michigan. The following Resolution will authorize the decertification of these locations that are presently shown erroneously as active streets on the Act 51 map.

These locations, shown visually on the attached maps, are as follows:

Frieze Avenue from 266 feet east of Brockman to 610 feet east of Brockman. This portion of the certified roadway is located on private property.

Island Drive from end of existing roadway to Cedar Bend Street. This portion of Island Drive is no longer a roadway.

Buffalo Street from E. Keech north to end. This certified street is a parking lot.

Forest Court from the end of the existing roadway to Washtenaw Avenue. This portion of Forest Court does not actually exist.

Upon approval by City Council, the Street Administrator for the City will have these locations removed from the Act 51 map prior to submitting the certified copy back to the State of Michigan.
