Resolution to Approve Street Closings for the 2025 Ann Arbor Jaycees Fourth of July Parade - Friday, July 4, 2025
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of certain streets for the 2025 Ann Arbor Jaycees Fourth of July Parade subsequent to the Firecracker 5K. The following streets will be closed from 8:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. for staging and cleanup of the parade:
S. State Street from North University to E. Liberty
E. Liberty from S. State to S. Main
S. Main from E. Liberty to E. William
E. William from S. Main to Thompson
S. Main from Washington to Liberty
Thompson from just beyond E. William where Parade will exit
Organizers are asked to provide assistance to parkers needing access to the Maynard Street Parking Structure. The streets will open as soon as safely possible after the parade passes through.
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, and to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City’s website, GovDelivery and through the Ann Arbor Jaycees communications distributions.
The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.

Whereas, The City has received a request from the Ann Arbor Jaycees to hold a parade in the City of Ann Arbor on Independence Day, Friday, July 4, 2025;
Whereas, It will be necessary to close streets from 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. for staging and cleanup of the parade;
Whereas, The following streets along the parade route will be closed only as needed beginning at 10:00 A.M. and until no later than 12:00 Noon to accommodate the parade itself:
S. State Street from North University to E. Liberty
E. Liberty from S. State to S. Main
S. Main from E. Liberty to E. William
E. William from S. Main to Thompson
S. Main from Washington to Liberty
Thompson from just beyond E. William where Parade will exit
