Washtenaw County/City of Ann Arbor Community Corrections Advisory Board (WCCCAB)
Established by resolution approved August 21, 1989 pursuant to the Community Corrections Act, MCL 791.406.
Also, Approved by County resolution on August 2, 1989 R89-0219.
Bylaws updated May 2, 2011 by Resolution No. R-11-166

Purpose
The purpose of the WCCCAB shall be to formulate a comprehensive plan for the development, implementation, and operation of the community correctional services in Washtenaw County/City of Ann Arbor and to develop a plan for the administration, monitoring, and control of the community correctional services under the comprehensive plan. The CCCAB is authorized to formulate the plan and submit such a plan to the Washtenaw County Commissioners and the Ann Arbor City Council. The Strategic Plan was approved November 6, 1991; amendments to the Strategic plan were approved August 3, 1992.

Special Qualifications for Appointment
City or County government representative or representative designee. (See Membership/Committee Composition for specific representation.)

Length of Terms
3 years: City Councilmember is assigned to this Committee for one year terms.

Membership / Committee Composition
Membership Composition is established by MCL 791.407
The members of the WCCCAB shall be appointed by the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners and the Ann Arbor City Council

  • One member shall be a county sheriff, or his/her designee
  • One member shall be a police chief of the City of Ann Arbor, or another city, or his/her designee
  • One member shall be a judge of the circuit court or his/her designee
  • One member shall be a judge of the district court or his/her designee
  • One member shall be a judge of the probate court or his/her designee
  • One member shall be a Washtenaw County Commissioner
  • One member shall be a City of Ann Arbor Councilperson
  • One member shall be selected from One of the following service areas: mental health, public health, substance abuse, employment and training, or community alternative programs
  • One member shall be the Washtenaw County prosecuting attorney, or his/her designee
  • One member shall be a criminal defense attorney
  • One member shall be from the business community
  • One member shall be from the communications media
  • One member shall be either a circuit court probation agent or a district court probation officer
  • One member shall be affiliated with the Washtenaw County Workforce Development Board
