Park Advisory Commission
Established on August 7, 1981 by Resolution No. R-335-8-81.
Membership expansion resolution approved December 7, 1987.
Bylaws amende July 6, 2009 by R-09-279
Purpose
To provide for public involvement in community park and recreation services and to provide advisory recommendations to the Superintendent of the Department of Parks and Recreation, City Administrator and Council regarding parks administration.
Special Qualifications for Appointment
Residents of the City of Ann Arbor who have demonstrated their interest in Ann Arbor's parks and recreation services and who are able to make a time commitment to serve.
Length of Terms
3 years
Meeting Times and Frequency
This is a permanent Commission that meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 4 p.m.
Meeting take place in City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, 301 E. Huron Street
Membership / Committee Composition
12 members total: 9 voting members, 3 non-voting members:
- 8 voting members appointed by the Mayor with the approval of City Council
- 1 voting member appointed by and from the membership of the Recreation Advisory Committee
- 2 non-voting members of City Council
- 1 non-voting member is the Parks and Recreation Services Unit Manager
