Purpose
To promote cooperation, research and action among local units of government and their residents on matters of water resource protection. To generate information on the Huron River that aids in ensuring protection of its water quality as well as wise use of the river.
Special Qualifications for Appointment
Representatives serve at the pleasure of the local unit of government. Appointment of those with skills in environmental science, law or education; planners and local officials are encouraged.
Length of Terms
2 years or at the pleasure of the member unit of government.
Meeting Times and Frequency
Executive committee members meet monthly, all representatives meet twice a year. Meeting times are set by those serving on the executive committee.
Membership / Committee Composition
As a member of the HRWC, the City of Ann Arbor can appoint up to one member for each 20,000 residents or fraction thereof.
