Renamed Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority on June 3, 2013.

Purpose
To direct and govern the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority, a public transportation system commonly referred to as The Ride.
Special Qualifications for Appointment
None specified
Length of Terms
5 years, with all terms ending on May 1 in the year of expiration.
However, there is no limit to the number of consecutive terms that an appointee can serve.
Also, members whose terms expire can continue to serve until reappointed or a successor is appointed.
Meeting Times and Frequency
This is a permanent authority which meets the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m.

8 members appointed by Mayor of the City of Ann Arbor with the concurrence of the City Council
1 member appointed by the City of Ypsilanti
1 member appointed by the Ypsilanti Charter Township.
