How Established
City Charter Amendment 19.10 - approved by voters April 3, 1978.
Purpose
To write and rewrite tenants' rights booklet.
Special Qualifications for Appointment
Any number of City authors, up to 3 tenant advocate authors and up to 3 landlord advocate authors. Advocate authors must be members of the State Bar Association.
Length of Terms
Until the author resigns or until a new Mayor, not the Mayor who appointed the authors, selects new authors as specified in the charter.
Meeting Times and Frequency
When changes in the booklet are needed.
Membership/Committee Composition
Any number of City appointed authors
3 landlord advocate authors
3 tenant advocate authors.
