Resolution No. 3 - Set hearing Date for Dexter Avenue Improvements - Sidewalk and Curb & Gutter Special Assessment
Memorandum
Attached for your review and approval is Resolution No. 3 establishing the date for the Public Hearing on the Dexter Avenue Improvements - Sidewalk and Curb & Gutter Special Assessment, District No. 39, File No. 2010-039.

The improvement includes the addition of sidewalk and curb & gutter along Dexter Avenue where none currently exist. This work will be included in the reconstruction of Dexter Avenue from Maple Road to Huron Street in 2012 as an MDOT-let Federal Aid Project. In addition to the street reconstruction, the project also includes replacement of the water main, storm sewer improvements, sanitary sewer repairs, and striping for bike lanes.

An administrative hearing to describe the project to the affected property owners was held October 3, 2011. Five property owners, one person being from the Parkside Commons Condo Association, attended this meeting. Included in the discussions were the shared costs to property owners for the addition of sidewalk and curb & gutter where none currently exist, the estimated total project cost, property assessments and the work schedule. On November 10, 2011 City Council approved District No. 39, File No. 2010-039 defining the individual shared costs to each parcel for the addition of new sidewalk and curb & gutter.
