Resolution to Approve Purchase of One (1) Newtek Tricaster TCXD850 HD Portable Live Production Unit and accessories ($30,990.00)
Memorandum
Attached for your review and action is a resolution to purchase for Community Television Network (CTN) one Newtek Tricaster TCXD850 HD Portable Live Production Unit including one (1) each of the following: Tricaster TCXD850CS Control Surface, Virtual Set Editor, and Live Text 2 software in the amount of $30,990.00 from Midwest Media Group, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Funding for this purchase is included in the Capital Equipment Fund in the approved FY 2011 budget.
CTN will use this Newtek Tricaster TCXD850 HD Portable Live Production Unit to replace the existing switcher in the studio control room for production of programming for CTN’s four (4) cable channels, its “Live Streaming” of public meetings, and its online Video-on-Demand web services. The use of the Newtek Tricaster TCXD850 HD Portable Live Production Unit will allow for an increase in both the technical and creative quality of productions, as well as increased efficiency and production output, allowing CTN to better serve the city and the community at large with continued high quality programming.
Bid documents were distributed to contractors and five (5) suppliers submitted bids for this purchase. Midwest Media Group is the lowest responsible bidder. The bid tabulation is attached.
Midwest Media Group received Human Rights approval on May 12, 2011 and complies with the provisions of the City’s living wage ordinance.
