Resolution to Approve the Renewal of Agreement for the Provision of Law Enforcement Services to the Ann Arbor Public Schools by the City of Ann Arbor, Ann Arbor Police Department
Memorandum
The agreement between the Ann Arbor Police Department and the Ann Arbor Public Schools provides for law enforcement services to the AAPS district and is renewed each school year to provide for changes in the cost of providing law enforcement services. This agreement, for the 2010/2011 school year, includes a provision to provide these services on a continued annual basis for any and all subsequent years. This updated agreement has been reviewed and accepted by the Ann Arbor Public School administrators.
As with past agreements, this renewal provides that virtually all costs of our police services will be reimbursed to the General Fund. With this agreement, the Ann Arbor Police Department continues to dedicate three (3) full-time school liaison officers during the AAPS school year and one (1) officer during the summer session to support the District as defined in the agreement.
The City Attorney’s office has reviewed and approved the attached agreement.
