Resolution to Establish Ann Arbor Industrial Development District 2011-010 for a portion of 1490 Eisenhower Place - McMullen Properties LLC
Memorandum
Attached please find for Council action the necessary resolution to establish an industrial development district (“IDD”) as requested by City Council on April 4, 2011.
State law requires that an industrial development district may be established after a public hearing by the local governing body. Establishment of an industrial development district is required prior to receipt of any applications for an industrial facilities exemption certificate within the industrial development district.
The property owner has requested the City establish an abatement district so that an application may be filed for consideration. Approval of this resolution would establish the district and permit the tenant leasing that portion of 1490 Eisenhower Place, which ill comprise the new IDD, to file an application for Council consideration.

Whereas, Pursuant to Public Act 198 of 1974, as amended, the City Council has the authority to establish “Industrial Development Districts” within the City of Ann Arbor;
Whereas, This City Council desired to establish an Industrial Development District on property owned by McMullen Properties, LLC and located in the City of Ann Arbor hereinafter described;
Whereas, Written notice has been given by mail to all owners of real property located within the district, and to the public on March 24, 2011, by newspaper advertisement in the Ann Arbor Legal News and public posting of the hearing on the establishment of the proposed district;
