Resolution to Approve the Purchase of Water Meters and Water Meter Supplies from Midwest Municipal Instrumentation, Inc. ($55,000.00)
Memorandum
Attached is a resolution to authorize a purchase order in the amount of $55,000.00 to Midwest Municipal Instrumentation, Inc. Midwest Municipal Instrumentation, Inc., is the sole Michigan distributor for the Aquamaster water meters. The previous purchase order was with Elster AMCO Water, Inc., but they no longer have the distributorship for Michigan.
The City determined that it was advantageous to work with a single vendor that could provide absolute encoded meters, digital register meters and electronic meters. The Aquamaster meters make up our entire inventory for these types of meters. The water meters and water meter supplies will be used for the operations and maintenance requirements for new meter accounts or to replace non-warranty meters. The purchase order will also allow us to have a modest meter inventory for O&M purposes.
Sufficient funds are available in the approved FY11 Public Services Area, Field Operations Unit, Water Supply System ($35,000.00) and Sewage Disposal System ($20,000.00) operating budgets.
Midwest Municipal Instrumentation, Inc., received Human Rights approval on November 19, 2010.
