Resolution to Approve Street Closings for the 2011 Take Back The Night (Rally and March) - Thursday, April 7, 2011
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of certain streets for the 2011 Take Back the Night (Rally and March) on Thursday, April 7, 2011. The following streets will be closed as needed from 7:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. for the march and will be reopened as soon as possible after the march passes:
· S. University Ave. from Church Street to S. State Street
· S. State Street from E. Madison Street to E. Liberty Street
· E. Madison Street from S. State Street to Thompson Street
· Thompson Street from E. Madison Street to E. William Street
· E. William Street from Thompson Street to S. Fourth Ave.
· E. Liberty Street from S. Fourth Ave. to S. State Street
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.

Whereas, The City has received a request from the Ann Arbor Coalition Against Rape to hold a rally and march in the City of Ann Arbor on Thursday, April 7, 2011;
Whereas, It will be necessary to close the following streets as needed from 7:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. for the march:
