Resolution to Approve a Traffic Signal Installation, Maintenance and Repair Agreement with the Board of Regents of the University of Michigan
Memorandum
Attached for your review and approval, please find a resolution to approve a traffic signal installation, maintenance and repair agreement with the Regents of the University of Michigan for the traffic control device to be installed at the corner of E. Medical Center Drive and E. Hospital Drive in the City of Ann Arbor.

The City of Ann Arbor was approached by the University of Michigan regarding an installation of a warranted traffic signal at E. Medical Center Dr. and E. Hospital Drive on the University of Michigan’s property. The installation of the signal will address pedestrian safety issues at the intersection and meets the Michigan Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Device (MMUTCD) warrants. The University has agreed to reimburse the City for all associated costs of installation and ongoing maintenance costs of the signal.

Staff of The Public Service Area Field Operations Unit will install the signal to ensure the signal conforms to our Traffic Control System standards and the utilization of our standard traffic signal equipment. This signal will be made a part of our system and will be maintained as such. The City’s inventory requirements and technician training needs will not be affected.
