Solid Waste Regulations for Christmas Trees

Memorandum

Attached for your review is a proposed amendment to the Solid Waste Regulations as enabled by Section 2:10 of Chapter 26 of the City Code.   These regulations shall take effect 30 days after being filed with the city clerk unless modified or disapproved by the city council. These will be filed with the city clerk on December 7, 2010.  

This amendment will remove any reference to Christmas tree and wreath collection during the month of January, due to the fact that this service is being eliminated in 2011.  Residents will be encouraged to drop off their trees at a location adjacent to the drop-off station on Ellsworth Road or put the trees out for compost collection starting April 1^st of each year.
