Resolution Authorizing Reimbursement to the Downtown Development Authority for the City’s Share of the Utility Improvements for Water Services to South Division Street ($145,069.00)
Memorandum
Attached for your review and approval is a resolution that authorizes reimbursement to the Downtown Authority (DDA) for the City’s share of the utility improvements on South Division Street between William and Liberty streets. The City will pay 75% ($145,069.00) of the total cost of the northerly 180 lineal feet of the project.

The project included 325 lineal feet of watermain, with the DDA paying 100% of the southerly 145 lineal feet; the City paying 75% for the northerly 180 lineal feet and the DDA paying 25% of that section or $48,356.00. The total cost of the project is $375,817.00 with $193,425.00 split 75/25% for the City and the DDA.

Through this partnering with the DDA, an undersized and older watermain was replaced with a new 12” main which is adequately sized to enhance firefighting capabilities within the downtown area.

Bids for the project were solicited by the DDA and E.T. Mackenzie Company was the lowest responsible bidder. E.T. Mackenzie has done work for the City and has current Human Rights approval.

Funding for this project is available within the approved Water Capital Budget.
