Title
Resolution to Approve Safety Services Fee Adjustments for Chapter 93 Alarm Systems Registration and Enforcement Fees
Memorandum
The attached Resolution has been prepared as a joint effort between the Police and Fire Service Units, the City Attorney’s office, and the Financial Services Service Unit.

The Safety Services Area is migrating to an automated system for false alarms enforcement and emergency alarms contact information. The new system, EnablePoint, will reduce the personnel time required to track and prepare false alarms billings and will integrate with the New World Financial System recently implemented.

Chapter 93 of the Ann Arbor City Code provides for the assessment of fees for registration and false alarms response services provided by Safety Services. The Safety Services Area has reviewed the fees for annual alarms registration and false alarms response services. The revised fees as proposed are attached.

Safety Services requests that City Council establish the Fee Schedule according to the proposed fees effective October 15, 2010. A copy of this fee schedule shall be posted by the City Clerk and made available to the public upon request through the offices of the City Clerk, Police Services Unit, and Fire Prevention Unit.

Passage of the Resolution as proposed is recommended.
