Resolution to Approve Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Perimeter Engineering LLC for General Engineering Services ($55,000.00)
Memorandum
Attached for your review and approval is a resolution to approve Amendment #1 to the Professional Services Agreement, in the amount of $55,000.00 with Perimeter Engineering LLC to perform construction inspection, Civil and Traffic Engineering, and Project Management Services for the total contract amount of $175,000.00

Council approved an agreement with Perimeter Engineering LLC (R-203-6-070), on June 4, 2007 for general Civil and Traffic Engineering, and Project Management Services to augment the support by the PMSU’s staff during random and seasonal peak demand periods for engineering services. These services provided have been paid for by previously approved capital budgets. Perimeter Engineering LLC was initially selected through a competitive process and has consistently proven to be reliable, responsive and able to complete the work efficiently.

The initial City Council authorization for the contract with the Perimeter Inc was for $85,000.00 with $35,000.00 for additional services approved by the City Administrator, for the total of $120,000.00. The majority of the total contract amount has been obligated for the survey and inspection services of several capital improvements projects and city inspection of private development projects. The work is ongoing. The additional $55,000.00 being requested would provide for more construction inspection services in 2010 including the construction inspection for the current Bird / Newport / Warrington Utility Improvements Project.

Perimeter Engineering LLC has received Human Rights approval and their employees assigned to work with the City of Ann Arbor will receive compensation in accordance with the Living Wage Ordinance.
