Resolution Accepting Easement for Permanent Storm Sewer and Detention Area from the Public Schools of the City of Ann Arbor (8 Votes Required)
Memorandum
There is a resolution before you to accept an easement for permanent storm sewer and detention area from the Public Schools of the City of Ann Arbor, a public body corporate organized and existing under the Michigan Revised School Code, for the underground stormwater treatment and detention facility located on Pioneer High School property.

This project is a collaborative effort between the City and the Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner, who joins the City in this grant of easement and has accepted it on behalf of the Allen Creek Drain Drainage District.

The County secured funds for the construction of this underground stormwater treatment and detention facility, and has designed and constructed the facility. The County is assessing the City their portion of the costs over a maximum of 20 years for this project. City Council approved this arrangement on November 17, 2008 (Resolution R-08-473).

The easement is in standard form and conveyed without cost to the City. Acceptance of the easement is recommended.
