This resolution supports the following projects:
1. Traffic signal rebuild at First & Miller ($65,000.00)
2. Traffic signal installation at E. Medical Dr. and E. Hospital Dr. ($75,000.00)

Of the above-mentioned projects, $235,000.00 will be funded from the Field Operations Major Street fund operating budget and $215,000.00 will be reimbursed by the University of Michigan and the Downtown Development Authority, through accident billings and various capital project accounts.

Carrier & Gable, Inc. is the sole area distributor in Michigan and Indiana for the Eagle Signal Company. All of our signalized intersections utilize equipment manufactured by Eagle. The advantages of sole source supply include reduced inventory requirements, as well as the need to train technicians in the repair of only one type of product.

Carrier and Gable, Inc. received Human Rights approval on March 22, 2010.
