Memorandum
Attached is a resolution authorizing acceptance of the award to the City of a 2008 award for Michigan Citizen Corps program, approval of the Michigan Citizen Corps program, and appropriation of the awards funds, when received, to the Office of Emergency Management.
The award provides federal pass-through funds through the Michigan State Police Emergency Management & Homeland Security Division to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Division, and to the City of Ann Arbor Office of Emergency Management for the purpose of providing training, planning, and educational outreach for the Citizen Corps Program partners of Community Emergency Response Teams, Neighborhood Watch Units, and Volunteer in Police Service programs.
Funding under this award will be allocated through the Michigan State Police Emergency Management & Homeland Security Division via the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Division, to the City of Ann Arbor Office of Emergency Management, and should not exceed $4,369.00. There are no matching funds required as part of the award. The Department of Homeland Security requires signed grant agreements with the State and local jurisdictions that receive funds from the State.
