Resolution Granting Easement for Permanent Drainage to Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner within West Park (8 Votes Required)
Memorandum
There is a resolution before you to grant an easement for permanent drainage to Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner for the maintenance of storm water controls over City lands commonly known as West Park.
The City of Ann Arbor is contracting for the installation of structural storm water controls (swirl concentrators) within West Park, as well as the integration of these controls with the existing Washtenaw County Allen Creek Drain system, to improve the storm water drainage in the Park.
The City and County have mutually agreed that the County will provide maintenance for said storm water controls in West Park as part of the Allen Creek Drain.
The easement area is designed to allow vehicular access for purposes of inspection and maintenance over the storm water control area.
This project has been reviewed and approved by the City Parks Department, which found that the easement area will not adversely affect the use and enjoyment of West Park.
The easement is in standard form and conveyed without cost to the County Water Resources Commission.
Acceptance of the easement is recommended.

Whereas, the City of Ann Arbor is the owner in fee simple of property located in the City of Ann Arbor, County of Washtenaw, State of Michigan, commonly known as West Park;
Whereas, the City of Ann Arbor and County of Washtenaw have mutually agreed that the City will install swirl concentrators for storm water control within West Park and the County will maintain said concentrators;
