Resolution to Approve Purchase Order to First Due Supply Company for Replacement Sets of Firefighter Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) ($37,383.00)
...Memorandum
This resolution requests approval to purchase seventeen (17) sets of jackets and pants worn by the fire fighters during emergencies. This purchase is part of an ongoing program to comply with current and existing laws and regulations to ensure that, as fire fighting gear becomes damaged and new personnel are hired, AAFD fire fighting personnel always have two (2) sets of compliant Fire Fighting protective clothing.

Each set issued to fire fighters is fitted to each fire fighter to ensure maximum protective coverage, ease of movement, and compliance to all current regulations and laws in effect governing this type of protective clothing.

First Due Fire Supply Company is the current provider of personal protective equipment utilized by the Ann Arbor City Fire Department. This brand has been used with great success in improved delivery of fire fighter safety. For both reasons of uniformity and interoperability, it is recommended that the replacement equipment be purchased for the current provider.

First Due Fire Supply Company received Human Rights approval on April 20, 2010.
Funding for this purchase ($37,383.00) is available within the approved budget for the FY2010
