Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to close the following streets for the Rolling Sculpture Car Show on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 7:00 A.M. to Midnight:

• S. Main Street between Huron Street and William Street
• S. Ashley Street between W. Liberty Street and W. William Street
• Liberty Street between S. Ashley Street and S. Fifth Avenue
• Washington Street between S. Ashley Street and S. Fourth Avenue - (except for traffic entering or existing the Washington Street Parking Structure)

Closure of E. Washington Street between S. Fourth Avenue and S. Division Street from 7:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. for use as a holding area is also requested.

This event, sponsored by the Main Street Area Association, will be held to promote the Main Street business district as well as provide entertainment in the downtown area.

The sponsor will insure that access to the Washington Street parking structure is maintained during the event, however the surface lot at W. William and S. Ashley will be closed. In addition, the sponsor will coordinate the bagging of parking meters with the DDA and Republic Parking.

The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.

Notification of the street closings will be provided through the city’s website.

The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.
