Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of certain streets for the 2010 Take Back the Night (Rally and March) on Thursday, April 8, 2010. The following streets will be closed as needed from 7:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. for the march and will be reopened as soon as possible after the march passes:

· S. University Ave. from Church Street to S. State Street
· S. State Street from S. University Ave. to E. Madison Street
· E. Madison Street from S. State Street to Thompson Street
· Thompson Street from E. Madison Street to E. William Street
· E. William Street from Thompson Street to S. Fourth Ave.
· S Fourth Ave. from E. William Street to E. Liberty Street
· E. Liberty Street from S. Fourth Ave. to S. State Street
· S. State Street from E. Liberty Street to the UM Diag

The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.

Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City’s website.

The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.
