Memorandum
Attached is a resolution to authorize a purchase order in the amount of $30,000.00 to Elster AMCO Water, Inc. Elster AMCO Water, Inc., was selected as the vendor for Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) water meters and supplies. The contract with Elster AMCO Water, Inc., has expired but they will extend the manufacturer-direct pricing to the City. Approval of the purchase order will allow us to purchase the water meters, AMR equipment and supplies at below market prices. .

The water meters and supplies will be used for the operations and maintenance requirements for new metered accounts or to replace non-warranty meters. The purchase order will also allow us to have a modest meter inventory for O&M purposes.

Sufficient funds are available in the approved FY10 and the proposed FY11, Public Services Area, Field Operations Unit, Water Supply System ($20,000.00) and Sewage Disposal System ($10,000.00) operating budgets.

Elster AMCO Water, Inc., received Human Rights Contract Compliance approval on September 21, 2009.

Whereas, Elster AMCO Water, Inc., was selected as the water meter and AMR equipment vender for the AMR solutions;

Whereas, The contract with Elster AMCO Water, Inc., that includes discounted pricing for water meters, and AMR equipment and supplies has expired, but they are willing to extend the manufacturer-direct prices to the City;
