Resolution for Community Events Fund Disbursements from the FY 2010 Budget
Body
Whereas, The Ann Arbor City Council wishes to support activities that promote or bring the community together in its richness;
Whereas, The Ann Arbor Community Events Committee met and reviewed funding requests from community groups; and
Whereas, The Committee recommends the following allocations:
1) Washtenaw County Department of Veterans Affairs - July 9, 2009 - $45.00 to cover rental fees at Gallup Park for the Former Prisoners of War annual picnic event;
2) Main Street Area Association - July 10, 2009 - $1,637.00 to cover city barricade fees and sponsorship associated with the Rolling Sculpture Car Show event;
3) Main Street Area Association - August 10, 2009 - $708.00 to cover city barricade fees associated with the UA Block Party event;
4) Main Street Area Association - August 5, 2009 - $352.00 to cover city barricade fees associated with the NTI Block Party event;
5) Main Street Area Association - September 18-20, 2009 - $796.00 to cover city barricade fees associated with the Oktoberfest event;
6) Ann Arbor Jaycees - July 9 - 12, 2009 - $2,916.00 to cover city police fees associated with the Summer Carnival event;
7) Ann Arbor Jaycees - July 4, 2009 - $3,380.00 to cover city barricade and police fees associated with the July 4th Parade event;
8) Kerrytown Bookfest - September 13, 2009 - $581.00 to cover city rental and trash container fees associated with the Kerrytown Bookfest event;
9) Hikone - Ann Arbor Educational Exchange Program - November 2009 to cover airfare for Ann Arbor Student Exchange to Japan;
10) Michigan Takes Back the Night - April 8, 2010 - up to $2,500 to cover city barricade and polices fees associated with the Take Back the Night Rally and March event;
11) Alice Lloyd Scholars Program - April 11, 2010 - up to $1,400.00 to cover city fees associated with the 2010 FestiFools Celebration event.
