Resolution to Dissolve the Ann Arbor Discovering Downtown Steering Committee

Whereas, The Ann Arbor Discovering Downtown Steering Committee (A2D2) was formed with the purpose of providing oversight of the initiatives that City Council approved from the Calthorpe Report;
Whereas, All of these initiatives, with the exception of Design Guidelines, have now been approved by City Council;
Whereas, The development of the Design Guidelines, the process for review of the Design Guidelines and an intense review of how they become integrated into our planning system requires a specialized knowledge; and
Whereas, In order to move the Design Guideline forward in a timely manner consistent to the direction of City Council;
RESOLVED, The City Council as of January 19,2010 dissolve the Ann Arbor Discovering Downtown Steering Committee (A2D2) and thank the members for all of the work they have done; and
RESOLVED, The City Council requests the Mayor to appoint a Design Guidelines Task Force at the February 1, 2010 City Council meeting to take up this important City Council initiative and bring their recommendation to City Council no later than December 6, 2010.
